
The Gourmet Pantry is the New River Valley’s premiere cooking school and gourmet retail store. We hold many of our classes in our gourmet kitchen on-site. We offer demonstration and hands-on classes, as well as wine classes, private classes, private cooking parties and corporate events. Our classes cover a wide range of topics including cooking for one, French cuisine, knife skills, vegetarian and sushi-making!
Whatever your level of skill, we promise you’ll find a class to suit your needs. For beginners, we offer courses designed to take the fear out of cooking by teaching fundamental skills that you will learn to apply in a variety of situations. More advanced students will have the opportunity to learn new recipes and add new techniques to their repertoires. Our classes focus on cooking from scratch, using fresh ingredients and implementing time-tested culinary techniques. Every class is led by an experienced and enthusiastic chef/instructor, each drawn from a variety of culinary arts backgrounds.
Classes are typically made up of 12-14 people. Keeping a small class size makes for a more intimate experience and gives ample opportunity for interaction with instructors.
Private classes are offered to groups who want a particular or more advanced class or a private gathering with friends. Classes can be chosen from those offered or tailored to your needs. Please call for more information.
POLICY AND GENERAL INFORMATION:
Classes begin at 6:00pm and typically last between 2 to 2½ hours. For all classes, food will be served (for some classes a full meal and others a tasting menu). Recipes and menus will be provided.
For the night of our classes, a 10% discount is offered on the entire store (discounted merchandise and wines excluded).
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Should you be unable to attend a class, you may send a substitute in your place. Due to our limited seating, reservation cancellations may be rescheduled no less than two weeks prior to class date.
Gourmet Pantry reserves the right to cancel any class due to weather, emergency, or other unforeseen circumstance. You will have the option to reschedule for a different class or receive a full refund.

To reserve a spot in our cooking classes, we must receive payment when you register. We are unable to reserve spots that have not been paid for in full. If the class you are interested in is full, please sign up on our waiting list and we will call you ASAP should there be any openings.
